Net als Sam (Stephanie van Leers) besluit als man door het leven te gaan, ontmoet ze een lesbisch meisje dat op haar valt als meisje… “Vergeet de zoveelste excuushomo en ga eens zitten voor de veelzijdigheid die de queer-gemeenschap in petto heeft. Géén met handen wapperende handtashomo als gay best friend maar hardcore feministen, genderqueers en dragqueens in de hoofdrol. Queer doorbreekt bestaande taboes en maakt je wegwijs in een, voor velen, onbekende wereld.”
Hetero’s, homo’s, mannen, vrouwen, transgenders, biseksuelen: allemaal worden ze in hokjes geplaatst. Deze lijken de wereld overzichtelijker te maken, maar laten vooral ook zien hoe het níet zit. Treed daarom binnen in de wereld van Queer Amsterdam, onze nieuwste YouTube dramaserie waarin queers de hoofdrol spelen. Deze dramaserie is gemaakt door drie jonge makers die middenin de LHBTQ-gemeenschap staan. Zij willen de veelzijdigheid van de LHBTQ-gemeenschap zichtbaar maken voor een groter publiek. Alle afleveringen van Queer Amsterdam zijn vanaf woensdag 8 februari om 16.00 uur te zien op dit kanaal!

Lesbisch, zwanger en jongensachtig. Ja, en?

Zwanger en je jongensachtig kleden? Dat kan écht niet!
Dat vinden althans een hoop mensen online. Domo (Domonique) en haar lief Crissy hebben een YouTube-kanaal (met meer dan een miljoen subscribers) waarop ze van alles met de wereld delen. Zo ook het heuglijke feit dat Domo zwanger is. Omdat zij de meer ‘mannelijke’ van het stel is, krijgt ze een stroom van kritiek over zich heen. Zij zou niet degene moeten zijn die de baby draagt, is het geluid. ‘Ze ziet eruit als een man die zwanger is’.
Domo vertelt Crissy dat ze zwanger is: [tekst gaat door onder video]

Het stel kreeg lucht van de commotie online en reageerde met een luid en duidelijk bericht: "Ik ben een vrouw. Een vrouw die altijd een kind wilde. Een vrouw die zich kleedt hoe ze wil en zich geen zak aantrekt van wat anderen daarvan vinden. (…) Wat kan het jou schelen dat ik joggers aanheb, wat maakt het jou uit dat ik niet het stereotype zwangere vrouw ben? Ik ben gezegend dat ik deze baby ter wereld mag brengen. Ik zal hem leren om altijd zichzelf te zijn en altijd voor zichzelf op te komen."
